Presidents Message:
Howdy all you folks. Well it is that time a year again everyone barrel raced hard all summer and have wrapped up and are looking forward to the 2009 PCBRA Finals held at the Lakota Center in Dawson Creek. We are headed for the BEST Finals ever we have increased our membership in the Open and Junior categories by about 20 each and have doubled our up and coming Peewee category!!!!
The year in a wrap has been extremely successful with 160 jackpots held throughout the year. Our Hypnotist fundraiser at the end of March was another great success and added just over $8000.00 to our bank account which was a huge help to our finals prizes. Our Summer Jackpot held at Smith¡¦s Arena was one to be at, it was up in numbers from last year and more money added to the pot. Everyone had a great time barrel racing and socializing.
Although all major jobs for the finals are filled and I thank all Volunteers greatly for this, there is always a need for helpers so if anyone has a free minute or hand you could talk to a director and the may have a job for you.
The AGM will be taking place on Sunday after the performance and if all members could make there best effort to be there and participate in discussion this will make 2010 run as smooth as the past few years.
On a personal note I have really enjoyed being the President of the PCBRA and can not THANK the whole board of directors enough for all there dedication and support in all the decisions surrounding the Association and Membership. Without this great group of people I wouldn¡¦t have had such an easy job!!!
I truly look forward to one more year as your President.
Thank you to all those who had there hand in sponsoring or collecting sponsorship for the 2008/20089 season. We would not have an Association without our Sponsors. Thank you again!!!
I wish every member and contestant the BEST of LUCK and HAPPY BARREL RACING at the 2009 PCBRA Finals.
Thank you once again to all directors, sponsors, volunteers and members of the PCBRA for making our association a Great One!!!
See you all there,
Crystal Fraser

Directors Message:
Happy Spring Everyone!! I hope everyone wintered well and is geared up for another fun summer of great camaraderie and
barrel racing!!! We have just finished up our Dawson Creek Winter series and currently have 91 jackpots scheduled so I guess
that puts us into the swing of Spring with a busy Summer of barrel racing around the corner!!!
nd
We had another successful Winter Series held in Dawson Creek which began in February and wrapped up on April 22 . We
had such a great rider turn-out with riders coming from Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Fort St. John, Fort Nelson and Grande Prairie
to participate!
Congratulations to the following buckle winners:
1D Lisa Zachoda on Ida
2D Yvonne Hussey on June Bug
3D Lauryn Davis on Bailey

We had many other winners also, so be sure to check out the full results on the website. Good job riders!!
A big thank you is in order to Heather Moat for spearheading and organizing the Winter Series with additional thanks going out
to each of the hosts and volunteers. Great job!!!
Chetwynd has also been busy this past winter with their own Friday night jackpots and was also the host of our major
fundraiser Hypnotist JR Matthews! A big pat on the back goes out to Justine Berg for taking on the organizing of the fundraiser
and to her fellow PCBRA Chetwynd members for stepping up and pitching in making the fundraiser a success!!
A great big thank you to all that hosted jackpots this past winter; if I missed mentioning you I apologize in advance! All efforts
are greatly appreciated. It is with this in mind that I would like all competitors to remember when they are at a jackpot; be a
gracious competitor and be thankful that you have great hosts that put on these fabulous events enabling you to pursue your
passion!! We all love what we do and a positive environment sets a great example for existing members and of course newbies
and our young up and comers! ļ
With 91 jackpots already scheduled this season there are a couple I want to mention and then discuss the 2010 Finals¡K.
th
MAY 15-18 MANNING ALBERTA

With planning of Finals we are again in need of sponsorships! We have introduced new incentives to encourage members to
bring in sponsorship funds; more info is available on the website. It is sponsorship that makes our finals the success they have
been over the years so any sponsorship generated is greatly appreciated!!
INSURANCE WAIVERS
Something new that has been brought to the attention of the executive is the requirement of waivers as per the PCBRA
insurance policy. Effective immediately all riders participating at a PCBRA sanctioned event are required to sign a waiver prior
to competing. All waivers are location specific, so if competing at multiple locations, multiple waivers are required. (Ex. One for
Lakota Centre, One for Groundbirch, One for PVEP, etc¡K) Each waiver must have the specified location on it and be filled out in
full. This may seem as an inconvenience, but is a requirement that must be fulfilled in order to continue to operate as an
organization. Doing the required paperwork gives us the opportunity to do what we love!! ļ
So without further ado, we bid all members (and future members) good luck this season! We hope to see you down the road!
Here is hoping that your horse runs hard and true, your travels are safe and fun and you remain a positive and gracious
competitor!
Good Luck Everyone & Have a Great Spring!!
